PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON  DRAFT REGIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT REPORT OF COAL TO SYNTHETIC NATURAL GAS PROJECT

 

Dear representatives of Ulaanbaatar city, Khan-Uul, Songinokharkhan, Baganuur and Nalaikj district,  Governors Office, NGOs, the private sector and citizens, herders, farmers in  Tuv province, Bayamdelger, Zuunmod, Altanbulag,  Sergelen, Arkhust and Erdene soums of Tuv province,  

We are pleased to invite you to the “Open public consultation on the draft Regional Environmental Assessment of Coal to Synthetic Natural Gas project” (SNG REA),  jointly organized  by Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry ( MMHI), Project Management Unit (PMU) of Mining Infrastructure and Investment Support Project (MINIS) and Consultant team Green Trends LLC.  

The objective of the consultation: Provide information on the draft SNG REA report,  publicly disclose it,  discuss  the draft report among the related stakeholders and revise it by considering the comments made the relevant stakeholders into the draft and finalize.

All verbal and written comments and concerns made by participants will be fully recorded and possible comments will be reflected in the draft  SNG REA report.

Your recommendations are valuable to the draft SNG REA report and please carefully look at the consultation package and prepare your suggestion before coming to the consultation.

Consultation materials have been disclosed on subpages of MINIS website: http://www.minis.mn/en/article/news/draft-regional-environmental-assessment-report-of and http://minis.mn/en/p/consultation-overview. Also, hard copies have been delivered to Governor Offices and Citizen Representative Meetings of Ulaanbaatar city, Baganuur, Nalaikh, Khan-Uul and Songinokhairkhan districts, Mayor’s Administrative Office, Local Governor Officesand Citizen’s Khurals of Tuv province, Arkhust, Bayandelger, Erdene, Altanbulag,Sergelen and Zuunmod and placed consultation package at aforementioned places.  

Interested stakeholders may visit to these Governor Offices and Citizens’ Halls to review these documents and in order to provide opportunity for the local residents to comment on the draft report, feedback journals have been placed together with the package.  

Therefore, after 14 days the consultation is held additional comments can be submitted through the following channels. Also, information about consultation can be obtained through the contacts in below:

  • All participants will be informed about how their inputs and feedback have been taken into account in the draft SNG REA report and also, this information will be publicly made available.
